Eli Mason. Powerful CEO and former SEAL. Protector. Leader. Sexy as hell.
A man who has learned the hard way to hide his wounds.
And the man I’ve been hired to destroy.
As a cognitive psychologist, I evaluate high power executives. Help bring bullies to their knees. So when the Board of Directors for Mason Enterprises begs for my help with Eli Mason, I can’t say no.
Eli Mason is exactly who I expect him to be. Wealthy, self-centered, powerful, and not the least bit inclined to cooperate. He is also gorgeous enough to make my head spin.
Yet when a predator sets his sights on me, Eli steps up to keep me safe. To trust me.
Except Eli Mason doesn’t know what I was truly hired to do.
★★★★★Amazon top-hundred author Alex Lidell delivers a page-turning enemy-to-lovers stand-alone romance, with a whip-smart heroine, a powerful Navy SEAL, and heart-wrenching trauma that only love can heal.
Enemy Contact is part of the Trident Rescue series, which follows a group of Navy SEALs who return home to Denton Valley, Colorado, and found a search and rescue outfit called Trident Rescue. The stories feature former-military alpha heroes, steamy intimacy, and personal trauma that only love can heal.

Excerpt
I wait until I’ve crossed the threshold of Eli’s office—and well out of his line of sight—before allowing myself to take the deep, stabilizing breaths I desperately need. That was intense. Or maybe Eli Mason himself is just intense, his leanly muscled six-foot-two body taking up all the oxygen in the room. I still feel the energy and power that emanated from him tingling along my skin, spurring my heart into a jog. With broad shoulders filling his crisp white shirt and washboard abs that were evident even beneath the tailored suit, the man is too beautiful for cosmic fairness. Except for his eyes. The cold gray steel in them is hard enough to cut stone.
For all his power, Eli Mason had spent the entirety of our first meeting erecting a wall between us. That isn’t unexpected, but my sudden gratitude for the distance is. Getting close enough to discover who Eli is is my job, but wyrd take me… I’m afraid of what I’ll find.
Getting my bearings, I pull myself together and settle on one of the blue benches in the reception area, taking note of the environment. This floor is sleek and modern, with cubicle walls of clear plexiglass, a navy-blue carpet runner and ergonomic office chairs. A massive depiction of a DNA double helix is painted on the wall. Everything neat as a pin. Unnatural. Like a military bunk made up tightly enough to bounce quarters off the blanket.
Nothing like the organic decor of the main office.
I’m in the middle of a note to find out whether the branding choice is incidental or a deliberate fuck-you to his headquarters when Eli Mason’s deep voice booms over the intercom system.
“Zana Crusoe, report to the CEO’s office, please. Zana to the CEO’s office.”
He sounds professional and clear over the PA, like a man used to speaking on the radio, though I think I detect a certain tightness in his words. You’ve met the man for all of ten minutes and now you want to analyze his PA announcements? I shake my head at myself. Eli has a heart-wrenching British accent—and yes, that alone makes me long to analyze his tone. But that doesn’t actually mean anything. In my peripheral vision, I catch sight of a young woman with spiky black hair and heavy goth-like makeup take a sip of soda and check her phone before starting toward Eli’s door. She disappears inside the same room I’d just escaped from, only now I hear raised voices echoing from the space. Well, only one raised voice, really. Eli Mason’s. His door must have some partial soundproofing since I can’t hear any specifics, but the sheer force and volume of the yelling is enough to make me blanch.
